Maria Perifanou

Leading academic and researcher in the fields of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL). She serves as an adjunct professor in TEL and CALL, teaching at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Open University, the International Hellenic University, and the University of Macedonia, Greece. She is also a senior researcher at the SMILE Lab. Currently, Dr. Perifanou holds the position of Vice-President of the European Association of Technology Enhanced Learning (EATEL) for the term 2022–2025 and is a board member of the International Alliance to Advance Learning in the Digital Era (IAALDE). She has collaborated with numerous European organizations and research institutions, contributing to more than 35 EU-funded projects focused on TEL, CALL, MOOCs, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and Artificial Intelligence in education. She is the initiator and scientific coordinator of several Erasmus+ and national projects and chairs EATEL’s Special Interest Groups on Educational Robots (SIG EduRobotX) and on Innovations in Technology Enhanced Language Learning & iCALL (SIG: InTELLigent CALL).
Dr. Perifanou has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized with international fellowships and awards for her research excellence.
